Absolutely! This is the perfect opportunity for us to get to know you and your comfort level in front of the camera before your wedding day. Your photos can be used as Save the Dates, on your wedding website, wedding day decor, or to hang on your wall. We include a one hour Engagement Session in all of our 8 hour+ wedding photo packages.
Luckily, we have questions prepared that help you determine this number and will formulate an example timeline to take full advantage of however many hours of coverage you choose. It really comes down to what memories are most important that we capture. Typically, a full day of coverage from getting ready to grand exit is 10 hours, however, we have customizable packages that fit any length of time. Please note, it is very important to book enough hours of coverage to match your timeline of events & allot time to capture all the details of the day. Hours are consecutive and cannot be split throughout the day.
Absolutely! In fact, we always provide you with a proposed wedding day timeline during our initial communications based on the information you provide on your questionnaire, if you are doing a first look, sunset time, and what is important to you. This helps you determine hours of coverage, allows you to plan ahead, and communicate needs with your other vendors. Your timeline will also evolve throughout the planning process until we get the final approval from you!
If you are open to the idea, we always suggest a First look. This is an intimate moment, perfect for photos, between just the two of you before the day officially begins. By doing a first look, we are able to capture portraits, wedding party photos, and sometimes family photos all prior to the ceremony so that you can mingle with guests during your cocktail hour. If you find yourself going the more traditional route without a first look, consider a first touch, letter exchange, and/or first look with your wedding party, parents, or siblings. We also recommend a “cocktail hour and a half” if not doing a first look to allow time for photos after your ceremony. Whatever you choose, it’s your day and we will be right there documenting it every step of the way.
It is always a great idea to have an extra set of hands and eyes capturing your big day. We highly recommend a second shooter if any of the following apply to your wedding:
1) Your guest count exceeds 100 people
2) Your getting ready, ceremony, and reception venues are in different locations
3) You would like photo / video of both sides of the wedding party getting ready at the same time
4) You would like us to capture different angles, multiple reactions, and diverse perspectives concurrently throughout the day
*Additional (simultaneous) photographers and/or videographers may be booked per hour with a minimum of four hours.
You will receive a Sneak Peek within 72 hours of the big day to share with your family, friends, and social networks. Your full digital gallery will be delivered within 90 days. This timeframe is simply due to the volume of photos that go through our intensive hand editing process.
As part of our services, you receive high-quality, professional editing services including culling, color / exposure correcting, cropping, and photoshopping. We start by sorting through all of the photos from your big day then each and every selected photo undergoes the three remaining stages of post production processing. We will eliminate photos that are out of focus, duplicates, or simply didn’t turn out for reasons including closed eyes, talking, turned heads, distractions, etc. For these reasons, we capture multiple images from each “scene” throughout the day to ensure we deliver the best possible result. Please note that we think you are amazing and even upon request, will not make you look like a different person.
Generally, our style is bright, natural, true to color, and timeless. However, we always match our editing style with the wishes of our couples and the atmosphere of your wedding venue, decor, and design. As part of your experience, you will have the opportunity to provide us with inspiration photos and share your overall vision. When we deliver your sneak peek, this is also a great time to approve the initial edits and we can move forward with editing the remainder of your gallery in the same style.
The amount of photos you receive is based on several factors including hours of coverage, number of photographers, and travel time between venues (if getting ready, ceremony, and reception are different locations). Every wedding is unique and while it is impossible to guarantee a specific number of photos, we can ensure we will fully capture your day. You will receive a digital gallery to view, share, and download your images in high & web resolution with a full print release. We would be happy to send over an example gallery for your reference.
Yes, we use double memory cards, external hard drive backup, an online gallery, and a cloud service. Your memories will be saved in numerous places.
